Jim Shore and Charming Tails Signing Events announced!
American Candle has two exciting and long-awaited signing events to announce!
Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 1pm to 4pm, we will be having a signing event with Jim Shore! Jim Shore's Heartwood Creek collection has been the delight of collectors young and old for almost a decade! It has been many, many years since American Candle has had the pleasure of having him here for a signing, and we are eagerly awaiting September for Jim's signing!
Saturday, September 25, 2010, with times to be announced, we will be having a Charming Tails signing with artist Dean Griff! It has also been several years since we've seen Dean, so make sure to schedule the day to come out to American Candle, pick up some new Charming Tails, and have Dean sign them!

In-Store Updates
American Candle has been supporting the Animal Welfare
Society of Monroe for their Flamingo FUNdraiser. AWSOM’s goal is to open a no-kill animal shelter and rescue in
our area’s former SPCA building, which is currently standing, but vacant. We got “Flocked” late Saturday evening by a
band of pink flamingos, and all weekend the staff of American Candle wore
pink. Customers donated to the AWSOM
cause, and as of Tuesday morning our feathered friends are still camped out in
the flowerbeds outside.
Lots of new stuff has arrived since our last update. Lots of new Swarovski Silver Crystal and
Swarovski jewelry has arrived, including their new Charm Bracelet series! The December 2008 introduction Department 56
Houses and Accessories have arrived as well.
D56 introduces new houses each year shortly after Christmas, and we get
them mid-summer, so we promise, they’re new!
We are still waiting for Pandora to arrive, and we
appreciate all of our customers that have been showing interest and having
patience with us as we wait for this new jewelry line to come in. We’ve been told to watch for arrival in the
second week in August now, and are keeping our fingers crossed.
Artist Signing Confirmed:
We have confirmation that on October 3, 2009, Artist Karen Hahn will be
at American Candle for a signing event!
Karen has been designing lines for the Enesco company for over 20 years,
and is currently known best for the Foundations and Take Heart
collections. We’re excited to have her
coming to American Candle, stop in now and reserve your pieces for this special
event!

Our front room, which formally held our American Candles, has been completely revamped from floor to ceiling and now houses our Ladies Boutique! Did you know there were large windows in that room? We had nearly forgotten about them, hidden behind those deep shelves all those years. With this remodel we are introducing several new and innovative product lines!

Featuring a brand new candlemaking area, American Candle will now be hand pouring candles on the premesis so customers can watch. We are still in the process of moving everything in and getting set up, but we are planning to have our candlemaking area fully functional in time for summer!

American Candle wants to encourage all of our website's shoppers to make their holiday purchases early to ensure timely delivery for Christmas. With the large size and volume of holiday orders there can be 1-3 days for an order to be processed through our shipping department before it is picked up by UPS. Also, there are the occasional times when we sell out of an item in our retail store and it will have to be ordered in, adding to shipping time. We appreciate our customers' understanding and patience with us during the busy holiday season.

We will be having a Paint-Your-Own-Pony contest as well as holding a raffle for a One of a Kind "Bunkhouse Bronco," hand-embellished by Lynn Bean herself! This week at American Candle we have made some minor rearrangements to the main Categories list on the website. "Coffee" and "Candy" have been combined into one section - "Coffee, Candy, and Fudge." Don't be discouraged by what looks to be a small selection of candy and coffee - Just click each link under the main heading, and each type of candy category has its own drop-down menu with even more choices of candy! Also, "Favors" has been incorporated with "Wedding Items" into "Wedding & Special Occasion."

In-Store Update August 30, 2008
As this email is going out, we're in the midst of our Charming Tails Character Event here at American Candle! There's lots of fun and exciting things going on, so if you're planning on coming out to Bartonsville today, hop in the car and come on down! There's lots of fun for everyone - and Mackenzie Mouse is here in the flesh... erm... I mean... in the fur! The event is going on until 3pm, you don't want to miss the excitement!
Not quite sure of where we are? If you have a GPS you can plug in our address - it's 216 Route 611, Bartonsville, PA 18321. OR, just take the Bartonsville Exit (299) off of I-80 and turn left at the stop light. Go just about a mile and we'll be on the left! We're open 7 days a week, and with our extended summer hours we're a great place to stop and spend an afternoon - or evening! We're open until 8pm Mon-Thurs and until 9pm on Friday and Saturday!

Charming Tails Character Event: THIS SATURDAY at American Candle!!
We're in the final countdown to our Charming Tails event! Less than a week to go and we're eagerly awaiting Mackenzie Mouse's arrival! Mackenzie will be here Saturday from 12pm to 3pm, as the star of our Character Event!
This year’s theme is, “Spending Time With Family And Friends Is The Best Time Of All”. Two special limited editions will only be available during the event. One is, “My World Began When I Met You” which shows Mackenzie and Maxine riding on a dinosaur. The other, “Mini Curio Cabinet.,” has 3 doors which open. How do they tie in to one another? "My World Began When I Met You" comes with a tiny version of the figurine... it's the perfect size to be placed inside the curio cabinet!
We will be having several contests during the event!
Participate in the “Time Theme” decorating contest. You can decorate anything you feel is related to “time.” Bring this with you to the event. It could be a kitchen timer, egg timer, stop watch, watch, clock, calendar etc., anything you feel related to “time.” Be imaginative as judging will be held at American Candle on Saturday!
Be creative and come dressed from another period of “time” other than the 21st century! This will be fun - American Candle staff is donning their costumes from the past as well - and there will be a judging for the best costumes!
CHEESY BUCKS ARE BACK!
When you participate in the costume contest, put an entry in the time decorating contest; make in-store purchases, you will earn “cheesy bucks.” You will be able to cash these in for an assortment of different items. Even being a current Leaf and Acorn Member will earn you one!
Are you a Leaf and Acorn Club Member? We will be having a drawing for a large size version of the "Celebrate" figurine. One lucky club member will get to go home with this extremely popular, rare figurine!

Many new Christmas items are arriving daily including a full line of Fontanini nativity pieces. It might be April but we're starting to feel a little festive at American Candle! New holiday votive gardens, table decor, ornaments,
and more are available from Dennis East! Don't wait to get your holiday gifts and decor purchased, pick them up now so you won't have that mad scramble when the holidays
arrive! We have new selections in Votive and Tealight holders, Pillar Candle Holders, Christmas Items, and Seasonal Home Decor. We're also trying something new to make
ordering easier for our customers. Now, on select Candle Accessory items, you will have the option to add a dozen votives of your fragrance-choice to your order without having
to go to the votive candle section of the website! We hope this convenient option will make ordering coordinating candles to go with your candleholders easy and hassle-free.
